On the afternoon of September 4th, co-founded by Shantou People's Government and Shantou University, Shantou Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute, "One Belt and One Road" Technology Services and Innovation Institute (Southeast Asia Silk Road Industry Development Center) signed and inaugurated the ceremony at the multifunctional hall of Shantou University Stadium.

Shantou Vice Mayor Lin Xiaoyong, Shantou University Party secretary, Principal Jiang Hong, Vice President Lin Danming, relevant leaderships of all counties and departments of Shantou, Shantou intelligent Manufacturing Expert committee in Shantou experts, Intelligent Manufacturing Demonstration Enterprise representative, Shantou Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing Advanced Workshop (the first phase) student representatives, and more than 100 teachers and students representing Shantou University participated in the event.

The establishment of Shantou Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute, "One Belt and One Road" Technology Services and Innovation Institute (Southeast Asia Silk Road Industry Development Center), represents a new chapter of the cooperation between the local government and university, promotes our school to further take the subject advantage, expert advantage, research advantage; advances the political and industrial cooperation, international cooperation, the result cultivates and transforms; encourages the college innovation carrier construction and serves the local economy.

As Jiang Hong announced at the ceremony, the college and the Shantou government co-founding two research institutes, which is committing itself to connecting industrial innovation, science and technology services and "One Belt and One Road" projects together into a line, a surface. It is aiming at striving to seize the opportunity in a new round of world science and technology revolution wave, in order to become Shantou and Guangdong innovation engine, development engine; striving to form a new opening pattern of land and abroad beneficial linkage; striving to promote the formation of the coastal economic belt in eastern Guangdong, and cultivate new growth poles, accelerating the development of eastern Guangdong’s economic Quality.

Lin Xiaoyong hoped that the two research institutes will manage to give full play to the talents and intelligence advantages, strengthen institutional innovation, and actively promote scientific research innovation, industry-academia collaboration and international Cooperation.
