On December 19th, GTIIT welcome and joint opening ceremony for the STU-Technion Biomedical and Ocean Symposium was held in the chamber of GTIIT. The Technion President Peretz Lavie, the President of STU, Jiang Hong, and the Vice President of STU, Lin Danming attended the opening ceremony and made speeches. Eliezer Shalev, the Pro-Vice Chancellor, presided over the opening ceremony.
In the speech, President Jiang Hong said that it was very glad to see the experts from different disciplinary background gathered together to share research experience and results and explore possible cooperation, and she believed that this symposium would be another milestone in STU’s cooperation with GTIIT, which will bring more opportunities for the teachers in two schools to cooperate together carry out scientific research. President Jiang Hong hoped that professors from STU, Technion, and GTIIT could work together to promote the implementation of more advanced research projects and jointly organize scientific symposiums.
During the symposium, the experts discussed and shared their opinions about the current hot topics, key projects, research achievements and latest progress of biomedicine and marine science in the world and China.
The symposium aims to provide a communication platform for STU, Technion, and GTIIT to further establish and strengthen the relationship between the research teams and to build a solid foundation for the future cooperation.
