According to an announcement by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, the employment rates for graduates of STU reached 98.04% by Sept 1st, 2017. Comparing with other universities, Shantou University graduates’ initial employment rate ranks first among provincial key universities and second among provincial undergraduate colleges. In the entire 30 undergraduate majors in STU, 14 majors’ employment rate reached 100%.
STU graduate employment rate has been in the first place among provincial key universities for seven years. The employment rate of graduates remained at more than 98% in 2016 and 2017. In addition, the average starting salary this year rose to 4664 RMB, with a rise of 6.14%. Among them, 41.61% students’ average salary is more than 5000 RMB. 142 students chose to pursue advanced studies, and it is the first time that the further study rate is over 10%. Among all the graduates, 16.53% students work in Global 500 companies and China's top 500 companies which increased by 3% over the previous year. All these data have reflected the achievements of the personnel training mode reform in our university.
