On April 25th, Shantou University signed a memorandum of cooperation on intensifying school-enterprise cooperation with Cisco Systems to promote the cultivation of high-quality applied engineering talents. Both sides will integrate technology advantages with talent cultivation systems to write a new chapter of school-enterprise cooperation. The vice president of Shantou University, Lin Danming, the adviser of Li Ka Shing Foundation, Feng Zhaolin, the vice president of Cisco Systems, Lin Wenyi, and the sales director of Cisco Systems, Zheng Xiaoyi all attended the signing ceremony.

Lin Danming, the vice president of Shantou University, said that Shantou University was not only an experimental field for the reform of Chinese universities but also the pacesetter of the reform and innovation of talent training mode, while Cisco Systems was the leadership of global technology. In his speech, he also mentioned that school-enterprise cooperation was a double-win pattern for both the schools and companies. He said, “We believe that Shantou University will seize the opportunity to accelerate the construction of high-level university to lay foundations for cultivating high-quality talents through the cooperation.”

On the other hand, Lin Wenyi said, “Colleges and universities are the cradles of high-quality creative talents, and Cisco Systems responds positively to the strategy of invigorating China through the development of science and education to provide sufficient support for Chinese through advanced technologies and practice. We believe that the cooperation with Shantou University will promote the establishment of a new IT talents cultivation model to make an accelerator for the development of creative talents.”
