On November 9 to 10, semi-finals of 2019 “FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English writing, reading and speaking contests (Guangdong Division) were successfully held.

More than 500 students from more than 60 universities in Guangdong province participated in the three competitions this year. Under the guidance of teachers from the English Language Center, students of Shantou University have achieved good results.

In the speech contest, Zhu Yuxin, from Marine science major, and Deng Leyang, from English major, both won the third prize. In the writing contest, Mao Yuting, from English major, won the first prize. Lu Meng, from accounting major, won the second prize. Guan Yushi, from Chinese language and literature major, won the third prize. Li Xing, from computer science and technology major, won the excellence prize.In the reading contest, Mao Yuting, from English major, won the second prize. Zhang Rong, from accounting major, and Zhao Guolong, from business administration major, won the third prize. Li Xutong, from radio and television major, won the excellence prize.

The competition was sponsored by the Education Department of Guangdong province, Guangdong Provincial College English Teaching Steering Committee, and Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press, held by College Foreign Language Teaching Steering Committee of Ministry of Education, China Foreign Language Education Research Center together, Xinhua College of Zhongshan University and Guangdong Polytechnic Normal University undertook the contest.
