Charitable Piano Recital by Asaf Kleinman in Shantou University

In the evening of June 2, 2016, the charitable piano performance by Israel pianist Asaf Kleinman was held in the Great Hall in Shantou University. Asaf Kleinman was born in 1986 in Israel and when he was 18, he was invited by the famous Russian pianist Nikolai Petrov to Moscow to attend the Kremlin Music Festival. Later he gave his performance across the world and his recitals got popular among many world-famous TV stations and Broadcast Stations. He has a magic of flexibility when playing the piano, which helps him easily switch and adapt to different styles like rock music and folk music. Asaf Kleinman is regarded as “a crossover genius of a hundred years” in classic music. He is also called “the Israel Li Yundi (李云迪)” by Shanghai Morning Post, a famous Chinese daily in China.

This piano recital in 2016, as the sequel of the “Shalom,汕头” concert in 2014, and the Adler Trio Harmonica concert in 2015, is the third charitable concert held in Shantou University by Guangdong Foreign Affairs Department and Consulate General of Israel in Guangzhou. The vice-president of Shantou University, Lin Danming (林丹明), delivered the opening remarks. He mentioned Asaf had made an uneasy trip to Shantou University due to flight delay, cancellation and transfer. He smiled and said, “a music genius of a hundred years, made a special journey to bring us a great concert of a hundred years.”

Attended distinguished guests are as follow, Mr. Yaacov Avrahamy and Mrs. Efrat Avrahamy, Consul-General of Israel in Guangzhou, Ma Long (马龙), Director of GTIIT Preparatory Office, and Xie Keng (谢铿), the vice president of Shantou CPPCC.
