From April 5 to 9, the third period class "Innovation on the basis of value", provided by Shlomo Maital, a professor of Israelinstitute of Technology, was held on time in the academic exchange center. The course was organized by Business School, and Professor Dennis Lee served as a teaching assistant. 59 undergraduate students, MBA students and the students of corporate management elite class participated in the course.

Professor Maital, is a world famous scholar and Senior researcher of Israel institute of Technology Samuel Neaman Institute for Advanced Study. This course has been successfully carried out in  Massachusetts institute of Technology for twenty years, and it is popular with the students. The course features a "value innovation" as the core content, and it could effectively enhance the students' innovation ability in a short time through a special teaching method that theory is closely linked to the reality.

In class, Professor Maital mainly taught the theory and other professional knowledge through action learning. On the first day, he let the students freely gather in groups, and each group was made up of 4 to 5 people. In the beginning, each group should form a creative idea, and finally finish his own business plan. Each team in the last day of the course would introduce the plan through the Rocket - Pitch Presentation and Video Presentations, and all the classmates would vote for the teams to elect the winners. This approach was not only to give students a chance to turn theoretical knowledge into practical operation, but also to make them cultivate innovative thinking and team work spirit in a short time. The students have said that this class is interesting and they could gain knowledge at the same time.

Despite of the classic teaching method, Professor Maital also used a lot of business cases, such as "Tell You A Story", to share with the students, which increased the students understanding of a variety of commercial law, and also made theoretical analysis be more interesting. Through this course, Professor Maital shared three valuable learning experience with the students: First, make full use of creative thinking; Second, have the dream to change the world; Third, be dedicated.

At the end of the course, all students involved in the course gained the course certificate with signature which was offered by the president of business school Lv Yuan, and took a group photo.

Professor Maital had a high evaluation on English expression ability and innovative spirit of STU students. He said he would often come here to provide innovation enterprise courses for Shantou University students. Besides, the Business schools will also continue to invite world-class scholars  to make the internationalization into a high level, so that it could provide more business talents for the society.
