On March 30th, the deputy mayor Zhao Hong visited the Medical College of Shantou University, and she was warmly welcomed by the president of the Medical College Bian Junhui.

Bian reported and introduced the plan and some information about the reform and development of the Medical College, and he also asked for help about some important items of the Medical College.

Zhao fully affirmed the Medical College’s success in reform and development, and she shows her gratitude to the Medical College and its hospitals for their contribution to the society. Besides, she also showed her respect to Mr. Li Ka Shing and Li Ka Shing Foundation for their support to Shantou University. Zhao said that the Medical College was the highlight of Shantou University, which has provided a lot of medicine talents for Shantou and even the east Guangdong region. She hoped that the Medical College and its hospitals could make greater contribution to making Shantou become the medical center of the east Guangdong region. In spite of that, Zhao said that the whole government would give enough support to the development of the Medical College. As for the request, she asked the relevant departments to work together to solve the problem.
