STU is listed into the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016-2017

 

The result of Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016-2017 is announced on September 22, 2016. This year’s ranking lists 980 top universities from 79 countries, including 52   universities of Chinese Mainland. Shantou University is in the 601-800 band, ranking 22nd among all the listed Chinese Mainland universities. Besides, a total of four universities in Guangdong Province are listed into this ranking : Sun Yat-sen University, Shantou University, South China University of Technology and Jinan University.

 

 

In recent years, Shantou University sticks firmly to the principle that education should be international and meticulous, and it also carries out comprehensive reforms on the educational pattern, scientific research and academic quality and school management system, which makes great achievements. Thus, its education quality and level are widely accepted by higher education sector at home and abroad. In 2015, it was the first time for Shantou University to be listed into the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings and Asian University Rankings. In 2016, Shantou University was awarded the 2016 QS World University Four-Star rating.

 

 

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings has been announced by Times Higher Education every year since the November of 2004. The top universities rankings use 13 carefully calibrated performance indicators which includes education, research, citation, industry income and internationalization to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons. This ranking is considered as one of the most authoritative and most influential worldwide university rankings.
