Education equity should not totally depend on the government. It should encourage social donation

On May 7, the forum of promoting education equity by the reform of the supply side was held in East China Normal University. Li Jiange, the director of Sun Yefang economic science foundation, the principal of Guangdong Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, gave a speech about the education equity and social donation. This was the first time for Li Jiange to attend a education summit forum as a principle.

In his speech, he mentioned that the government was the first one to be responsible for  education equity, however, it should not totally depend on the government. If it was, it would cause infinite financial expenditure and increase fiscal levy, which would be a great social burden.

He suggested that we should make full use of the social donation and reform the present education system:

First, the education system should be in accordance with the international community, especially in school management, school instructional materials and professor employment.

Second, it is very important for us to increase the transparency to show the donors that how the money is spent on education.

Third, it should make the donors have the sense of achievement, sense of honor and sense of accomplishment, but not the sense of being cheated and frustration, or even helplessness.
