Professor Li Jiange met with the former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson

 

On April 21, the principle of Guangdong Israel Institute of Technology Professor Li Jiange met with the former U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Henry Paulson in Beijing. Mr. Paulson said Professor Li Jiange was an insightful authoritative expert in economic development, and he also exchanged ideas with Professor Li on China's economic development. Both sides agreed that China and the U.S should enhance communication to promote the sustained and healthy development of Sino-U.S. relation.

 

Professor Li Jiange is a famous economist in China. He once worked as a researcher at the Development Research Center of the State Council, the deputy director in Policy Research Office of the State Planning Commission, the deputy director and director of Department of Policies and Regulations of the State Economic and Trade Commission, the office director of the State Council Securities Commission, the vice chairman and the vice executive chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, the vice director of the Economic Restructuring Office of the State Council and the deputy director of the Development Research Center of the State Council. In August, 2008, he left the government agencies and stared to work in the enterprise. Since then, he had served as the vice-president of Central Huijin Investment Limited, the president of China International Capital Corp, the chairman of SHENYIN﹠WANGUO FUTURES Company Limited and the chairman of SHENWAN HONGYUAN SECURITIES Company Limited. Professor Li Jiange has won the Sun Yefang Prize in Economics three times, which is considered as the highest award in Chinese economics. In September, 2015, Professor Li Jiange became the first president of Guangdong Israel Institute of Technology.
