Now let’s review some of the wonderful contents of this fresh conversazione.

So how many years will it take to achieve gender equality?

Ms. Zhu introduced the topic of the development of female leadership by telling the examples of Professor Maureen McKelvey from the University of Gothenburg who adopted his wife’s surname, and the new women in the UAE. She also showed students the status quo of women’s career development through some data:

As data showed in the 2018 report of the World Economic Forum, it is about a 108-year wait for achieving gender equality! The horrifying number reflects that it takes all of us to achieve gender equality.

Different Thinking Modes between Men and Women

While talking about the different thinking modes between men and women, Ms. Zhu mentioned that men often claim all the credit for themselves and put emphasis on themselves, while women often attribute success to external factors and focus more on factors beyond themselves. Such a difference reflects the discrepancy between the development of male and female leadership.

Besides, Ms. Zhu also used the example ofRuth Bader Ginsburg to tell the story of the man behind the heroine, which rejects the traditional stereotype of“the woman behind the hero” and shows students the unlimited possibilities of women. She summarized the significance and development potential of females in modern society with the sentence“Without‘HER’, even‘HERO’ is‘0’”.

Leadership Circle Profile

At the end of the sharing session, Ms. Zhu shared students a model called Leadership Circle Profile, instructingthe students how touse it toconduct a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of their leadership, identify their development positioning, make up for their weaknesses, andpromote their leadership development.
