Girls can also reach the summit courageously to appreciate the vast universe and starry sky. The team has accomplished camping at Phoenix Mountain from October 10th to 11th, working together to define what is Life Without Limits.
Review of the Trip
FIRST
Climb the Phoenix Mountain and Get to the Tianchi
Accompanied by the blue sky and white cloud, the 10-kilometer hike has schooled the hikers’ will and brought the sentiment.
Although the journey is short, the backpack is heavy! We become a more united team through learning and gaming.
Initially, some students don’t believe they could stick it out, but still manage to keep up with the main group; There are also students leading those physically tried even though they are exhausted in like manner. No one gives up after suffering falls. While reaching the summit and looking back, we realize it’s all worth it.
(Warm-up exercise)
(Alpenstock instruction)
(Weight-bearing hiking)
(Tent instruction)
What really matters for mountain climbing is not about conquering the mountain, but about to self-conquest.
Looking back on the journey of the day, girls hadn’t relied on help from boys and manage to stick it out.
Phoenix Mountain in Chaozhou is at an elevation of 1,325 meters while the main peak is at an elevation of 1391 meters. There is a special and different feeling while standing on the top of the mountain overlooking the landscape and breathing the fresh air at sunset The ancients like to climb a mountain and express their generous feeling. That explains it. The higher we stand, the broaden vision we will get.

SECOND
Talking under the Starry Sky
When the moon falls, the stars appear. We will tend to be emotionally touched in a black void.
The mystery of the day-long “guardian angel” has been revealed. We are either acquainted with each other, or we want to “fix it”.
“I don't know who I'm guarding today. Can I keep guarding tomorrow?”
With the moonlight and starlight, some people express their feelings:
“It's the first time I've laughed so happily in a year, and I don’t have to think about anything else today.”
“Why climb a mountain? Because it’s there.” “What's more important than the scenery is the parner.”
THIRD
Night camping
Because of the upcoming typhoon, it is rather windy at night. The sky curtain we built is blown down and the tents become shaky. The howling wind makes it hard to sleep. But we somehow make it Some girls are not feeling well, but still insist on staying with everyone.
Whisper: “On the first night, the typhoon lasts for 3.5 hours. I wear 5 pieces of clothes but still shiver with the cold. It is unforgettable.” “Thanks to our partners who keep watching at night. They take the initiative to keep us safe, and I would like to become such a powerful and reliable person!” “I will always remember the moving moments of conquering the mountain and the wind!”
FOURTH
Chaozhou Phoenix DanCong Tea Museum
How can you come to Phoenix Mountain but not appreaciting tea?
Phoenix Mountain is famous for its DanCong tea, which has been sold overseas as early as in the Republic of China and is now a local eye-catching name card. The fragrance of the high-quality DanCong tea is so delicate that even our clothing smells of tea aroma.
Looking back on this journey, how many people have been touched, how many have been healed?

Feedback
“Just hold on, we'll get to the top.”
Wang Yunxi, Tutor of Esther Hall: Prior to starting off, I tried on my backpack and doubt whether I can make it to the top. But I chose to face the music eventually. There’s a thin line between abandonment and persistence. Along the way I saw many special and different landscapes and finally reached the top with the company and encouragement of my partners. Actully I can’t stop thinking, we will definitely reach the top through the last effort.
“To feel the kindness of strangers is the gift of mountains and rivers.”
Ma YURIN, PRESIDENT OF SNOW LEOPARD: Let’s talk about the stars. I was attracted by the nature, especially the rivers and mountains at a very young age, and that’s why joined the snow leopard association and went into the nature. I did this not because of the landscapes, but also because of the people I encountered along the way. In fact, most outdoor enthusiasts are very friendly and approachable. In the process of climbing, they are willing to get to know people they don't know and accept the kindness of strangers, which is also a gift from the mountains and rivers.
“We girls can also be ‘unyielding’”
Ye Xiaoting, STEAM member: The STEAM project encourages women to achieve integrated development and enhance their personal abilities. The traditional perception of femininity as “yielding” seems to be overly biased, so much so that we women mostly seem to be assimilated into these voices, repressing the potential of being unyielding and unconsciously accepting the figure of being yielding. Even though the event included several male students, we did not rely on their help. We carried weight and insisted on completing the whole journey. We set up and took down the tents all by ourselves. And we barbecued independently. What is more valuable is the mutual help between girls.
“I really appreciate camping because it enables me to get into different disciplines.”
Liu Xiang, STEAM member: What matters is I get to know a group of good friends. She is an excellent photographer in addition to her major. She used to take part in Model United Nations and rent an apartment in another city during her internship, but such an independent girl would also ask me how to properly peel shrimp. She would particularly contact me and talk about her social anxiety, hoping to hike with me altogether, but turns out fully involved with the group because of the good atmosphere. She returned from her trip climbing the snow mountain and taught me how to pack the bag personally. She gave up watching the sunrise to guard the camp...
When we all look up at the sky, we are grateful to the starry sky to witness the moment! Many students majored in liberal arts. Thanks to this camping trip I can have the chance to communicate with them and get to know them.
“When they look at me and smile, it's warm and beautiful.”
Bao Xia, STEAM member : As a member of the mountaineering group, I was really moved along the way. I was really touched when I looked at my team members who are younger than me but carry a heavier load on their backs. As a senior, I seemingly take care of them a lot, but they also positively influence me.
That night when I was looking at the stars and wondering about my future, they call my nickname without malice, looking at me and smiling. Their warmth and happiness are the healing power.
People coming and going, it is best to cherish the very moment.
Thank you for your company.
Looking forward to our next encounter.
